Hello, May!

The food and beverage scene never fails to offer new items to look forward to the entire month, season, or beyond. There’s a myriad of fresh things to try this May, whether you’re looking for something that could keep your cool this summer or simply something you could munch on to excite your palate.

From Potato-Corner flavored mojos to Magnum affogato, here’s a roundup of offerings you should try now.

Shakey's x Potato Corner Flavored Mojos

Remember when Shakey's mojos were gone for a long time? The fast food chain is making up for it with its recent collaboration with Potato Corner. From May 1, the food brand is offering the same iconic mojos amped up with the latter's equally iconic flavors: BBQ, Sour Cream, and Cheese. They're available in three sizes: solo for P209, basket for P429, and supreme for P579, which you can enjoy with two flavors of your choice.

UCC x Magnum Affogato
Magnum affogato

UCC is best known for its Kori-Kohi iced coffee, but its new tie-up with Magnum might just be the next big thing. The Magnum Affogato is here to elevate your coffee dessert experience, thanks to three flavors that complement the deeply rich taste of coffee in their own ways. There's the Classic Magnum Affogato for when you want something straightforward and simple, but you can also opt for the Tiramisu Magnum Affogato if you're someone who can't get enough of coffee no matter what form it takes. Are you into desserts with a hint of zest? The Orange Magnum Affogato is for you. These irresistible menu items are now available in all UCC branches nationwide for P280 each.

Serenitea x Locally Tropical Mocktails

Another collaboration is here—and we're not complaining. Does the summer weather always get you in the mood for some mocktails? Serenitea's tropical coolers could quench your thirst with three flavors: Paloma, which pleasantly mixes black tea with pomelo juice as well as hints of blue tea and rosemary; Guyana, which features the surprising goodness of black tea with banana and guyabano juice; and Rosey Dalandan, which combines black tea with dalandan juice and roselle tea in one minty, refreshing drink. All these are available in all Serenitea stores in the country until June 15 or until supplies last.

Macao Imperial Tea x Twinings

Speaking of cool partnerships, Macao Imperial Tea and Twinings joined forces to offer the Tea Coolers Series perfect for the hottest time of the year. Among its flavors are Cheesecake Peach Tea, Strawberry Mango Tea, Mango Jasmine Green Tea, Camomile Honey Tea with Vanilla, Earl Grey Lemon Tea, and Lemon Ginger Tea, with each one highlighting the milk tea brand's signature flavors infused—and made even more refreshing—with the taste and aroma of Twinings, the oldest tea brand in the world.

Jollibee's Mango Graham Fudge Sundae

We all love mango graham float—what more if it's turned into a sundae and taken up a notch with some chocolate fudge? Here, Jollibee uses its signature vanilla soft-serve ice cream as its base and tops it with the good stuff: mango chunks and puree, crunchy graham bits, and rich chocolate fudge. This delectable treat costs P59 each.

Domino's Teriyaki Supreme Pizza

There's always room for pizza, especially if it's something fresh to the taste buds like Domino's Teriyaki Supreme Pizza (P516). This new menu offering features either hand-tossed or thin-crust pizza with some bacon, grilled chicken, bell peppers, mayonnaise, and teriyaki sauce, yielding an irresistible umami flavor. Of course, it wouldn't be complete without mozzarella cheese.

Starbucks' Belgium Chocolate Latte

Do you like your drink thick and indulgent? You might want to try Starbucks Belgium Chocolate Latte, which the beverage brand described as the "ultimate chocolatey journey." Available in hot and iced variants (P190/P205/P220), it's made with Belgium chocolate sauce and its signature Coffee Frappuccino, finished off with chocolate crushed shells, chocolate whipped cream, and more mocha sauce on top. Should you dare to enjoy the offering with even more texture, go for the Starbucks Belgium Chocolate Frappuccino Blended Beverage, which is also available in the same sizes and prices in cream-based version.
