If you’re still on the hunt for vegan alternatives that can satisfy your craving for meaty munchies, this unranked list might help. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) gave their verdict on the best veggie burgers in the Philippines, which are made from nutritious and animal-friendly ingredients like jackfruit, mushrooms, tofu, beans, and unMEAT, among others. Wild Thing Bacun Cheeseburger (Green Bar)

It’s the Wild Thing Bacun Cheeseburger (P425) by Green Bar, which has the incredible goodness of house-made seitan, jackfruit Wild Thing vegan burger patty, unturkey bacun strips, onion rings, vegan mozzarella cheese, lettuce, and chipotle mayo on a toasted bun. Open from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., its physical store is situated in Makati City. It’s also available for delivery in all parts of Metro Manila.

The Goood Goood Burger (Shakey’s)

A healthy alternative to The Baaad Baaad Burger, The Goood Goood Burger (P185)—available in all Shakey’s branches nationwide—is made with plant-based patty, tomato, cucumber, white onion and pickles, lettuce, and vegan dressing. It’s best enjoyed with fries and Coke Zero (P270).

Heartburger (Greens Spot Café)

The Heartburger by Greens Spot in Quezon City “is made up of five types of grilled veggies, topped with vegan mayonnaise and all the trimmings, and served with a side of potato wedges.” While it’s temporarily closed for dine-in, it has decided to shift to food delivery in Metro Manila starting March 28. 

Loaded Protein Burger (But Better)

But Better’s Loaded Protein Burger (P260) is the vegan brand’s best-selling umami burger, which is made with soy-based patty, tomato, lettuce, white onion, pickles, as well as homemade barbecue and cheese sauce. They’re serving customers in Western Bicutan, Bonifacio Global City, Quezon City, Makati, and, soon, the South.

Sloppy José (Shaka)

Available in Makati, SM MOA, NAIA 3 Departure Area, Cebu, and Southwoods, this delightful offering has “pure vegan black bean burger with smokey spices in a freshly toasted vegan potato bun with creamy vegan mayo.” You may also make an order via Food Panda and GrabFood.

Cosmic’s mushroom burger (P185) has been a winning crowd pleaser and it’s a no-brainer why. This yummy snack “features a homemade mushroom patty with all the trimmings sandwiched between sourdough bread, served with a side of fries.”

Baked Tofu Walnut Burger (Corner Tree Café)

This huge veggie burger (P375) by Corner Tree Café in Makati City has a healthy baked patty in a whole wheat bun. You can either choose to amp it up not only with mint yoghurt sauce or vegan mayo but also with sides like sweet potato fries or veggies. Want to take your burger experience to a whole new level? Spend some moolah on extra toppings like Gruyere cheese (P80), Australian cheddar cheese (P55), fried onions (P25), and organic fried egg (P45). 

King Kong Burger (Chilla Gorilla Burgers)
