Craving white chocolate? Here are some irresistible offerings to try in Manila

Chocolate makes everything better, doesn't it?

While the spotlight has long been on the good ol’ milk chocolate, its white version is just as good. Unlike the brown confection that marries cocoa particles, white chocolate simply combines cocoa butter, milk, sugar, and vanilla hints together, yielding magical results.

Have you been craving this decadent delight? Here are some white chocolate offerings you can enjoy in the metro—in different heavenly forms.

Let’s start with the straightforward white nama chocolate (P250/P260) from MANA, which features vanilla chocolatey tones mixed with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. A combination that yields magical results, you can opt to top it with cocoa powder, matcha powder, cinnamon ground, or vanilla powder.

Bonbons are always fun to eat—what more if they’re made luxurious? Check out these white chocolate bonbons by Pia’s Kitchen, which are amped up with fresh caramelized pecans ground into a lightly crunchy praline. Bonus: they’re even finished off with gold shavings.

When it comes to cookies, Mo’ is the real deal. Its white chocolate walnut cookie (P160/palm-sized) has the perfect mix of milky, nutty, sweet, and salty hints that can be extremely difficult to say no to. You’d be welcomed to the goodness of white chocolate chunks at first bite, and then surprised with the crunch from the lightly salted walnuts. What a treat!

Do you love champorado? If you haven’t tried Angrydobo’s classic yin-yang champorado (P565), you’re missing out. Both milk and white chocolate flavors are the stars of each 700-gram bucket, which is made extra with a salty finish from peanuts and some pink himalayan salt.

Tous les Jours’ White Forest Cake (P1,098) is a sponge cake dressed in white buttercream and white chocolate shavings. It may look a bit intimidating, but you’d love it just the same.
