Close your eyes—picture the warm sunlight hitting your skin, breathing in the morning breeze, and inhaling the scent of fresh plants. Perhaps, this could be the sign you’re looking for to go camping.

Camping with your loved one or friends is a fun yet peaceful way to get away from the city. It offers a change of scene, while still maintaining the excitement of activities from setting up a tent to hiking.

So, whether you love exploring the outdoors or you’re seeking a temporary moment of “entertaining” solitude from the Metro, these five campsites are a must-visit. Plus, they’re only a drive away from the metro.

Bulod Campsite

Tanay, Rizal

Located within the Sierra Madre Mountain Range and Tinipak River, Bulod Campsite is a popular camping site for celebrities and those who are in the mood for adventure. The campsite is known for its picturesque hiking trail, coconut trees, and friendly tour guides.

The campsite also includes a mess hall for those who want to grab a bite before their morning hikes. Fun fact: It includes unlimited coffee for an all-around energy boost. If you’re looking to spend the night outside, you can buy a glamping tent for four that costs P6,000 per night.

An old-school but goodie campsite, WK Forest Reserve and Campgrounds allows visitors to savor the night sky. What makes this spot unique is that it doesn’t offer fancy amenities—just a shower and a restroom.

Be careful in driving to WK Forest Reserve, though, since you’ll pass through bumpy roads and rivers to get to the location. So, make sure to bring a heavy-duty vehicle like a 4x4 or a pick-up.
