We’re all too familiar with Boracay’s white-sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and exciting water activities. But, have you ever taken the time to explore its growing food scene—down to its cozy, little jaunts?

There’s nothing wrong with trying out Boracay’s most popular restos. In fact, they are also considered tourist spots in their own right. However, it doesn’t hurt to go deeper into the picturesque island to savor its hole-in-the-wall or hidden delicacies. These food joints likewise offer a one-of-a-kind food experience on the island that will be hard to forget.

Without further ado, here are seven hole-in-the-wall restaurants in Boracay that are absolutely worth the price and extra calories.

The Lazy Dog Bed & Breakfast

Tucked inside a cozy bed and breakfast at Station 2, The Lazy Dog & Breakfast offers delectable breakfast meals, sandwiches, and pizzas that are made with love. It offers generous serving sizes, so it’s the best place to dine if you’re having a full day of water activities or going out with a group.

Don’t miss out on its unique tuna omelet (P220), whiskey burger (P325), gourmet tuyo (P200), and tropical smoothie bowl (P250).

The Pig Out Bistro

Sometimes, you need to spend money on good food and thankfully, The Pig Out Bistro satisfies your gourmet expectations. The homey restaurant serves upscale Western-inspired meals with a unique twist and houses some of the friendliest people on the island. Many of their waiters even crack jokes with their customers.

A lot of meals at The Pig Out Bistro deserve your attention, but if we have to choose our favorites, the Paella Negra (P1,448), Crab Burger (P498), Dry-Aged Porterhouse Steak (P670/100 grams), and Seafood Platter (P1,200) are the standouts.

Percy’s Seafood Cioppino

Do you consider yourself a seafood addict? Don’t worry, Percy’s Seafood Cioppino has got your back. The quaint, nipa hut-inspired restaurant serves delectable meals made from locally-sourced seafood. Even if this place is still new in the game (they opened last April 8), their tasty dishes prove they’re here to stay.

Don’t step out of Percy’s without trying its Thai Curry Crab (P1,490), Seafood Cappellini (P490), and Thai Crab with Glass Noodles (P1,490).

Smoke Resto

An oldie, but underrated goodie—Smoke Resto is the quintessential affordable restaurant that feels like a home away from home. It serves homey meals that feel like an ode to our childhood because, let’s face it, a classic Pinoy meal is a gem of a classic that’s hard to beat.

Some of their best eats include the Sizzling Bulalo (P500), Grilled Eggplant Salad (P155), and Creamy Oriental Chicken (P255).

Levantin Restaurant

European cuisine seems intimidating to outsiders, but Levantin Restaurant can be a yummy introduction to its dishes. The restaurant serves Italian and German meals, with a hint of Asian fusion, that are hard to resist. Its meals are so yummy that you can imagine yourself savoring their taste even when you return home.

Stumped on what to order? Don’t worry, the Farmer’s Frittata (P280), Chicken Schnitzel (P350), Pizza Margherita (P320), and Moussaka (P290) are delectable intros

Two Brown Boys Burger Joint

It’s hard to resist the savory and juicy goodness of a great burger, and Two Brown Boys Burger Joint is proof of how it’s supposed to be done. The restaurant, which is frequented by locals, also serves tasty bar chow and offers a mean spot for your next walwal

But, if we have to talk about the restaurant’s burgers, the Sir Matt Burger (P365), Bacon Blue Cheese (P365), Open-Faced Tuna Sandwich (P275), and JLee’s Crispy Spamwich (P275) are must-try meals.
