This airport beats 12-time winner Changi as world's best in 2024—survey

Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar has overthrown 12-time winner Singapore’s Changi Airport as the world’s best airport, according to Skytrax.

This is HIA's third time claiming the top spot, after winning the title in 2021 and 2022. 

Marking its 10th year of operations this year, HIA—which boasts the renowned indoor tropical garden, the Orchard—continues to impress as it was also named Best Airport in Asia and the World's Best Airport Immigration Service.

Changi Airport, which has won first place consecutively from 2013 to 2020 and in 2023, is now in second place.

South Korea's Incheon International Airport climbed a spot in the rankings, moving up from fourth place last year. It was also named the world’s most family-friendly airport for 2024.

Coming in fourth place is Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, which is also the World’s Cleanest Airport. According to the report, Haneda Airport had over 70+ million passengers last year.

Narita International Airport, another major airport in Tokyo, joins the ranking, claiming the fifth spot. This airport is particularly celebrated for its outstanding customer service, earning the distinction of World's Best Airport Staff.

The air transport rating firm's annual ranking is based on surveys at 500+ airports and considers factors such as cleanliness, staff service, accessibility, terminal design, dining, and more. The survey, conducted between August 2023 and March 2024, gathered feedback from airport customers representing over 100 nationalities.
