Father's Day is that time of the year our dads deserve to know that they are the superheroes of our lives. And just because it's right around the corner, it doesn't mean that your last-minute plans should be short of fun.

Even though it's likely for your dad, or the father figure in your life, to say that he wants nothing for the special day, it would still mean a lot to him to spend time with the entire family over something extraordinary.

If Papa is a sports enthusiast, why not take him out for a game of bowling or soccer? Tatays who are a bit bold and fearless of the needle might fancy getting a tattoo. Daddy's into music? Take him out to a restaurant with a live band performance.

Read all that and more in PhilSTAR L!fe's list below of fun things to do with dad this Father's Day.

Strike a fun family time with bowling

Whether your dad is a bowling aficionado or simply one who’s up for a fun and fuss-free activity, then bowling could be your best bet. Playing a game would allow your dad and the entire family to relax and have a good time as bowling is a sport that anyone can take a crack at.

Since winning or losing isn’t really a priority here, you could keep the conversations, laughter, and jokes rolling throughout the game. The activity’s indoor setting is also a big plus as you wouldn’t have to worry about suddenly changing your plans when the rain starts pouring in.

Score an enjoyable Father’s Day with your pop in bowling centers like Studio 300 in Pasig (P1,500 per hour per lane) and Makati (P1,800/hour/lane), Playdium in Quezon City (P170/game/person or play-all for P800/hour/lane), Superbowl in Makati (P200/game/head), and Paeng’s Midtown Bowl in Manila (P240/game/head).

Break a sweat on a soccer game

If your dad loves watching football, why not inspire him to take a hand in playing the sport or better yet, unleash his inner Messi? The best time to let him run free on a court and just enjoy uninterrupted hours away from his daddy duties is, of course, Father’s Day.

Because the sport needs at least seven players per team, it would be a good idea to let your titos and cousins tag along, making this special day a memorable one for the entire clan.

Let the games begin by heading to football fields such as the Blue Pitch in Circuit Makati and the Turf BGC in Taguig which both have open plays from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. every Sunday. If you want a more exclusive experience, you can also rent indoor soccer pitches like those offered by Sparta Philippines for P5,000 per hour or Studio 300's Makati branch for P3,500 per hour every weekend.

Take a road trip in his dream car

Every dad has a car they've been wanting to own. While buying him his much-coveted sports car may not be possible for now, you could always rent those beasts to give him the ultimate ride of his life—not to mention save yourself thousands of bucks.

This Father's Day, allow your dad to be chauffeured around town or beyond by booking a luxury car rental in the Metro. LXV Cars offers chauffeured luxury cars, including a red hot Ferrari 458 Italia with a starting price of P28,000 hour and a striking yellow Ferrar F12 Berlinetta for as low as P35,000 per hour.

Looking for options that are lighter on the pocket? VPI Cars offers rides on its Jaguar cars for an hourly rate of at least P1,800, BMW 5-Series for a starting price of P2,300, and Mercedes-Benz cars from P2,300 to P4,800.

Get some rockin' tattoos

Getting couple tattoos has been common among lovebirds, but do you know what makes it different from getting matching inks with your family? Well, couple tattoos tend to be weird when the relationship ends.

Since a family's love is shared and celebrated forever, why not encourage your pop to commemorate your unbreakable bond by getting fresh inks on his special day?

What's even better, there are tattoo parlors around town that are offering to do two tattoos for the price of one throughout this month. This includes the celebrity-approved Arte Tattoo in Poblacion, Makati, as well as SJ Javina Tattoo in Pasig and Don Antonio Tattoo in Quezon City.

Unwind and dine over live music

If there's one thing common among fathers, that would be their infinite love for music. Most often than not, many of us would wake up on weekends to his playlist full of light and soulful tracks from the Beatles, Eagles, Stevie Wonder, and many more artists dubbed as the greatest singers of all time.

While playing his favorite tracks over speakers is a tried-and-tested way to keep Dad in high spirits, it becomes a whole different experience when his music is being played live. This, in addition to good food plus hearty conversations with the fam, would certainly make for a memorable Father's Day for him.

Cap off the day with a sumptuous dinner and relaxing music in bistros offering live band performances on Sundays, like 12 Monkeys Music Hall & Pub in Estancia, Pasig, as well as FOUR30 Gastropub and Tago Jazz Club in Quezon City.
