Go on a bamboo bike tour around Binondo and Intramuros this History Month
Want to experience Binondo and Intramuros on two wheels while learning a bit of history?
In celebration of History month, Bambike is launching a special limited edition Intramuros - Binondo Bike Tour to be held on all Sundays this August.
Participants can learn all about the history of Binondo, the oldest Chinatown in the world, and pedal around the busy streets aboard unique handcrafted bamboo bicycles.
The collaboration between Bambike Ecotours and Chinatown Museum is ideal for international travelers visiting Manila and locals who don't have their own bicycles as bike rentals will be provided.
Guests will retrace the footsteps and cultural heritage of the Chinese in Manila by visiting key locations with significance to Chinese and Chinese-Filipino history in this 2.5 hour long tour.
Stopovers include Puerta del Parian, the Binondo-Intramuros Bridge, Plaza Cervantes, Jones Bridge/Plaza Moraga, Escolta/Burke Street and Binondo Church and Plaza.
Optional Snacks and refreshments will also be available at the Chinatown Walk and a visit to the newly reopened Chinatown Museum (30-45 mins.) can be arranged.
The bike tour takes off at 9:30 am and ends at 12:00 noon at the Bambike Headquarters located along Real St. corner General Luna St. in Intramuros.
The route is rated at an intermediate level and participants must be comfortable biking in moderate traffic and somewhat busy streets. The total biking distance will cover just 8.5 km.
The special bike tour is priced at P1,799 per person inclusive of the Bamboo bike rental, a tour guide, all entrance fees, and local ice cream at the end of the tour. Families and tourist groups who want to book private tours can also do so for an additional P3000.
