Come together for the 773 Collective

By MARBBIE TAGABUCBA, The Philippine Star Published Jun 25, 2021 6:00 am

Manila partygoers may recognize Harvey Michael Alumisin as the first person on the dancefloor. As an entrepreneur, he is doing essentially the same thing with 773 Collective — getting people to come out of their shells and bringing them together to experience something special.

“773” stands for its address in Makati. The 40-square-meter space on the ground floor of the building will be transformed into a chic living room — one in which you can buy everything inside.

“While building the space, it had always been my intention to keep it available and to evolve ideas organically with it,” says Harvey. 773 Collective is in the building that houses his HMA Concepts.

The goal? By bringing back the sense of camaraderie and individuality that we’ve been sorely missing since the pandemic, the collective aims “to help the community of local enterprises to thrive despite the challenges and adversities we are all facing.”

Gabbie Sarenas sends her signature hand embroidered lovin’ to homeware with linens and throw-pillow linens.

Pam Quinones, Maica Salud-Tady and Cindy Go Bayot’s Vestido add color to their baroque pearl and acrylic bead lineup.

Ren Marble has been making a name for itself by fashioning Filipino marble into contemporary silhouettes, and will do a few pieces exclusively sold at the collective.

Bloom Room flowers and arrangements will be at the trunkshow.

From Bianca Natola and Clair Concepcion Barberis’ Kila Objects & Studio, there’s a 773 Collective exclusive pop art planter made out of vintage Filipino comics.

“We gave each designer total creative freedom for their exclusives,” says Jamie Santiago, Harvey’s HMA Concepts colleague and creative ambassador. “We briefed them with the vision we had for 773 Collective and told them to create exclusive pieces that resonate, specific to their voice and their craft.”

The collective will also host some firsts. Purveyor of unconventional scent combinations Rare Earth will launch its second drop of scented candles and a special scent that resonates with the whole 773 Collective vibe.

“There is only so much that photos can bring,” Jamie says. “We want to provide and relive the same sensory experience of retail in a safe manner (as it was) pre-pandemic. The ability to touch, smell, see and speak to the creatives themselves. The physical conversation and the interaction are all somewhat missed.”

While a virtual catalogue ahead of the trunk show is now on view and shoppable at @773collective, you just have to be there.
