If you really want to travel like the A-listers, staying in a private island is never not an option. A favorite? Amanpulo Luxury Resort.

Everyone from Beyonce to Anne Curtis and Kathryn Bernardo have reportedly been spotted vacationing at this ultra-luxe island resort. According to Daily Mail, Madonna stayed in the property for a whole month and reportedly went left with a $6.2 million bill!

With the translation "peaceful island" in Sanskrit and Filipino, Amanpulo is a tropical paradise for those seeking for a luxe private getaway in the Philippines. It is operated by one of the most exclusive luxury hotel chains in the world, Aman Resorts.

Paradise on Earth

Amanpulo spans 85 hectares in the Cuyo Archipelago of northern Palawan in the Philippines, and is just a 70-minute plane ride from Manila. The island resort also has access to 5.5 km of coral white sand and pristine waters.

Ultra luxe but worth it

To go here, you’d really have to shell out money. For starters, there’s a $520 (P27,268) roundtrip airfare fee for adults and $310 (P16,256) for children ages 2 to 11 using their private plane.

Their rooms, which are designed by acclaimed Filipino architect Francisco Mañosa, start at $1,500 (around P79,000) per night and go up to $8,000 (around P419,000) per night.

Beach Casita

The 42 casitas and 18 private villas on this island each have an assigned private assistant and 5-star features such as vaulted wooden ceilings, pebble-washed walls, coconut-shell tables and large Cebu marble bathrooms, along with private outdoor decks.

The villas, however, have access to a private beach, a pool, a living and dining pavilion, and outdoor lounge and kitchen. Additionally, guests in villas have their own club car and private butlers and chefs.

World-class amenities

There are also plenty of amenities to help you get the most out of your vacation. There’s the Aman Spa, a fitness center, a 30-meter swimming pool, four tennis court, and an outdoor Jungle Run obstacle course. It also features a kid’s club, library, a boutique, and a clubhouse.

Those looking for some water adventure may head to the Seasports Hut, where they offer a variety of excursions including sunset cruises, Manamoc tours, sandbar trips and fishing trips. Non-motor water sports are also available, as with snorkling and diving activities.

Private dining by the beach

Amanpulo is also the perfect place to get back to nature. Complimentary bikes are available for rent, guided nature walks are being offered, as with tours of the island’s organic farm and healing garden.

And of course, a resort is never complete without food. Amanpulo has tons of restaurants to try. You can even ask the resort to prepare picnic lunches and barbecues on the beach, in a cave, or on the hillside, or set up a meal in your own Casita.

The price is no joke, but the resort is the best choice for travelers who look for privacy and luxury on vacation—just take it from the rich and famous.
