Manifested! This woman turned her ‘Sims 4’ home into reality

By SAAB LARIOSA Published Jul 05, 2021 9:16 pm

We often turn to virtual realms when we need an escape from the real world, but for self-proclaimed home buddy and Sims enthusiast Tasha Khaya Parado, it was the gaming world that gave her the inspiration to manifest her virtual home IRL.

Tasha posted her house in popular decor Facebook group Home Buddies, where it's commonplace for members to share their homes for the over 2.5 million fellow home buddies to see.

Though Tasha's post might have looked like a regular home tour at first glance, she actually uploaded her home designs from simulation game Sims 4 alongside her real-life kitchen and living room.

"Sharing our new house that I designed on Sims. Finally putting all those years of playing to reality," Tasha captioned.

Impressed with her foresight and dedication to the game, her post has garnered over 10,000 reactions since its July 1 posting.

Despite being an avid Sims designer, Tasha actually didn't know that it would become the basis for their house, as everything in their new home was built and designed on the simulation game that sees players controlling virtual humans called “sims.”

"I actually built the house on Sims a year ago without thinking that it was going to be ours as we were just renting within the same subdivision," Tasha shared with PhilSTAR L!fe. "It was just for fun as I usually just build houses that I find online or I see that I feel like I want to follow in the future,"

"One day, we saw that this house was up for sale so my husband contacted the owner and he accepted our offer. I didn't really expect that we'd actually get it. During the negotiation, I remember just going back to this house I built on Sims and started redesigning the interior for one whole night."

When the owner eventually accepted their offer, Tasha showed her virtual designs to her husband and they tweaked it together.

From then on, their house renovation took around two months—with everything going according to Tasha and her husband's design.

"I've actually been playing the game since I was young. Every time I see a house that I like, I just search for the plan or look at pictures, and then I build it on Sims 4."

With the family still settling in and introducing new furniture to the house, Tasha is still planning on redesigning the master's bedroom and their office next. Of course, we'll have to wait and see if the rest of her house matches her overall Sims aesthetic!

Yup, even the TV set against the stairs was prepared!
