Netflix rom-com series Emily in Paris has no doubt won the hearts of many Filipinos over the past weeks. It got fans wanting to cop the cast's gorgeous clothes and fly out to its picturesque filming location in an instant.

Lucky for 25-year-old Pinay Leona Diaz, she didn't have to go far—or wait for the pandemic to end—to tour Paris a la Emily Cooper (Lily Collins).

On October 3, the Paris-based Pinay and her husband Jesus Victor roamed around the city and recreated the scenes from the show. The photos have been making the rounds on Facebook since she uploaded them on October 11.

In her interview with PhilSTAR L!fe, Leona reveals that she learned about the series from one of her friends back home. "My friend Hanna from the Philippines referred it and said it is a good series," she says.

Leona was working as a nurse in Manila before she migrated to Paris in 2018. Since then, she has been busy helping her husband run his photography business, Vbrncy Productions

Photo shoots have been part of the couple's weekly routine. Last weekend, the couple did what they do best but this time, inspired by the theme of Emily in Paris

Leona explains, 'We live in the 6th arrondissement, which is located at the center of Paris and a 15-minute-walk from the set of Emily in Paris. My partner and I love doing photoshoots talaga since Paris is very Instagrammable. Malapit na siya sa amin so nagpunta kami."

Check out Leona's take on the scenes straight from their shooting locations.

Emily—or this time, Leona—tells her apartment's landlady that her shower just broke off.

Leona stops by Italian bistro Terra Nera. In the show, it was portrayed as Gabriel's restaurant named "Les Deux Comperes."
Right beside Gabriel's restaurant is bakery La Boulangerie Moderne, where Emily bought a delicious brioche.

Leona goes on to tell PhilSTAR L!fe that she once noticed a video production team setting up equipment in front of their apartment. Little did they know it was for the series Emily in Paris.

She recalls, "There is also one scene that they shot in front of our building. If I'm not mistaken, it was last year before COVID. Actually, 'di namin narealize until now na sila pala 'yung nasa harap namin."

She says she can relate to the struggles of Emily, especially when it comes to speaking French. "Mahirap 'yung language since may gender 'yung words and 'yung pronounciation is very different. But now I'm attending classes for French language," she remarks. "The longer I stay here the more I appreciate there culture and fall in love with their instagrammable Rues."

Leone ends the chat with a tip to Pinoys wanting to take a leisure trip to Paris—at least after the pandemic.

"Tour Eiffel talaga. Kahit everyday niyo siyang makita, hindi nakakasawa. Siguro loob ng Louvre Museum and other museums rin kasi mas doon niyo maa-appreciate 'yung country and talents nila. And maybe mag-Bateaux-Mouches rin kayo, which is 'yung cruise nila na lahat ng tourist spot sa Paris madadaanan an."
