DITO vs. Globe vs. Smart: Which prepaid Home WiFi will give you the best speeds and promos?
DITO Telecommunity has entered the prepaid Home WiFi game, giving Filipinos a third affordable option aside from Globe and Smart's current offerings.
This new prepaid Home WiFi isn't widely available in the Philippines yet—it's beginning a pilot program in Manila, Caloocan, and Quezon City still—but so far, it's looking promising. DITO is boasting that its Starter Kit can reach up to 500 Mbps download speeds.
Telco giants Globe and Smart also offer prepaid Home WiFi setups, which are easier on the wallet for those who don't want to pay a monthly fixed fee for their internet connections.
Let's take a look at how the three telecoms' products compare to each other when it comes to download speeds, starter kit prices, and data allocation promos.
DITO
The newest of the three, the DITO 5G Home WiFi Starter Kit is available for P12,990, and it comes with a DITO sim card, 50 GB of all-access data, and three months of HBO Go.
Data promos start at P590 for 50 GB and can go all the way up to P1,990 for 250 GB. Currently, DITO has an ongoing introductory Double Data promo for subscribers, which is valid for 30 days (with rewards and data rollover).

According to the website, users can enjoy up to 500 Mbps download speeds. Subscribers can also easily track their WiFi data usage through the DITO app.
The starter kit is available at DITO Experience Stores at Greenhills, Robinsons Galleria, SM Manila, and SM North EDSA.
DITO has yet to provide other details about their modem such as the number of LAN ports and WiFi support.
Globe
The Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi - LTE Advanced is available for P999 and it comes with free 10 GB of data to get you started. While the device isn't 5G-ready, this setup supports 3G and 4G as well as Dual Band WiFi (2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz).
According to Globe, up to six devices can connect to this Home WiFi. It also has four LAN ports for faster wired connections.
Through the GlobeOne app, users can subscribe to HomeSurf and HomeWatch promos for the following prices:

Globe also has a cheaper P499 Home Prepaid WiFi. Download speeds will usually depend on your area.
Smart
Meanwhile, Smart is offering a 5G-ready Prepaid Home WiFi modem for P15,990 with free 20 GB open access data for seven days upon activation. Like Globe's offering, this Smart Bro device supports 2.4Ghz and 5GHz WiFi, but up to 10 smartphones and laptops can connect to it.
In addition, Smart says this prepaid device will give users fiber-like speeds with its six 5G antennas for betta signal capture.
Through the GigaLife App, subscribers can register to data promos. Smart also has an unli 5G data app for P599 for 30 days.
