2023 may still be over a month away but Walt Disney is kicking it off early with the announcement of its content showcase happening this week.

During the two-day event happening on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, Disney will unveil its list of upcoming shows and films for 2023, with a focus on content to be released exclusively in the Asia-Pacific region through Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar.

Set to take place at the MBS Convention Centre in Singapore, this year's Disney Content Showcase will offer dibs on various Korean shows headlined by the psychothriller Connect

Directed by the famous Japanese director Miike Takashi, Connect follows Ha Dongsoo (Jung Haein) as he loses one of his eyes to a gang of organ harvesters. He later discovers that he can still see the out of his missing eye, which is now being used by a serial killer in Seoul. Dongsoo then hunts down the criminal to take back what is rightfully his.

Another exciting content Disney will showcase during the event is  Japanese psycho-thriller Gannibal. Based on Masaaki Ninomiya's suspense comic of the same name, Gannibal delves into the story of Daigo Agawa, a police officer who has been assigned to the fictional village of Okamura. Everything seemed normal until an old woman died mysteriously in the village. He later discovers signs pointing to the residents' wicked nature of eating humans.

Other Asian content Disney is expected to reveal during the event are Japanese coming-of-age series Sumo Do, Sumo Don't!, as well as Indonesian mystery drama Virgin The Series, among others.

Apart from giving a sneak peek of the studio's 2023 slate, Disney's  APAC Content Showcase will hold a "blue carpet" on Nov. 30, which will gather some of the region's famous stars at Singapore's iconic Marina Bay Sands.

These include Korean stars Lee Donghwi, Heo Sungtae, and director Kang Yunsung for the upcoming crime drama Big Bet; as well as Jung Haein, Ko Kyungpyo, upcoming actress Kim Hyejun, and Japanese director Miike Takashi for Connect.

Pixar director Peter Sohn will also join the blue carpet, representing his all-new, original feature film Elemental.

This year's Disney APAC Content Showcase is the studio's second content reveal in Asia, following last year's event where it announced its ambition to greenlight over 50 APAC originals by 2023.
