Grab your broomsticks, Pinoy Potterheads! Prepare to dive back into the magic and mystery of the Wizarding World, as Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert is set to land in Manila this August.
In a social media post released July 21, Circles Entertainment announced that the live concert experience will take place at the Theater at Solaire in Parañaque on August 9 and 20.
During the concert, wizards, witches, and Muggles can get to watch Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on a giant HD screen as a live symphonic orchestra performs the film's musical score which was created by award-winning composer John Williams.
The 2002 film is based on the second installment of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter book series and follows the story of Harry as he faces the challenge of his second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which includes an encounter with Voldemort, the wizard who killed both of his parents.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert is produced by CineConcert as part of its Harry Potter Film Concert Series that has been running in 48 countries across the globe since 2016.
The first installment of the concert series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in Concert, was held in Manila in August 2019 and featured the Philharmonic Orchestra with Gerard Salonga as its maestro.
Like any show in the concert series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert is expected to have a run time of three hours with a 20-minute intermission.
What makes the event more exciting is that attendees are encouraged to come in their Potter-themed costumes. CineConcert notes, though, that it;s best to visit the venue's webpage for attire restrictions.
Tickets will be available on Ticketworld outlets and online on June 24.
