Will Disney+ arrive in the Philippines soon? Job openings spark speculations

The Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution has put up job listings based in the Philippines, sparking speculations that Disney+ could finally be available for streaming in the country. 

The company listed four job positions on professional networking site LinkedIn, including Disney+ Assistant Manager – Social Media, Brand and Content Marketing Senior Manager, Brand and Content Marketing Manager, as well as Growth and Acquisition Manager.

The Assistant Manager “will launch local social channels for Disney+ (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and others), will drive the implementation of social content strategies, and work with agencies to manage content calendars, scheduling and publishing of content.” 

The Brand and Content Marketing managers will mainly manage its campaigns to boost awareness of the brand and platform among local consumers, while the Growth and Acquisition Manager is “responsible for providing expertise and strategic direction in the areas of media strategy, media planning, and media buying for Disney streaming services, delivering best in class media plans to support local brand and acquisition marketing campaigns.” 

Disney+ hosts various content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic, among others.

According to Business Insider, the streaming platform is currently available in the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, France, India, Belgium, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, United Kingdom, Ireland, Isle of Man, Monaco, Wallis and Futuna, French West Indies, French Guiana, New Caledonia, Japan, Indonesia, Latin America, Réunion, Mayotte, Mauritius, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea.
