Big brain: Man marries wife four times and gets divorced thrice to maximize paid leaves

Don’t get any ideas, alright?

A Taiwanese man who found a loophole in his company’s leave system wed his partner four times then went on to divorce her three times in the span of 34 days just to take advantage of his paid leaves.

The anonymous bank clerk first filed the eight-day leave for his wedding on April 6. Once the marriage leave was over, he proceeded to divorce his wife, and remarry her the next day to be eligible for another 8-day paid leave. He planned for this to go on, right until the bank eventually caught wind of his antics.

At this point, he had already remarried his partner four times and divorced her three times. He appealed for a total of 32 days off work.

With the bank refusing to grant him the more than month-long rest, the clerk then filed a complaint at the Taipei City Labour Bureau.

In a strange twist of events, the Labour Bureau actually sided with the employee, who found the loophole. The bank themselves were fined NT$20,000 (P34,000) for violating Taiwan’s Labor Leave Rule that allowed the groom to have the time offs in the first place.

Talk about the luckiest man in the world.
