Lucasfilm has revealed the stellar cast for Disney Plus' Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series, which is slated to kick off production this April.

The highly-awaited Star Wars spinoff series will see the return of Ewan McGregor as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen as the ill-fated Anakin Skywalker.

The story will take place 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, when Obi-Wan had to face his padawan, Anakin, who fell further into the dark side to become the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.

Deborah Chow, who directed two episodes of The Mandalorian, will helm the "special event series" for Disney Plus.  The show is executive produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor, and writer Joby Harold. Casting director is Carmen Cuba.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere exclusively on Disney Plus, although there's no word yet on the show's release date.

Disney previously announced that 10 Star Wars series will debut on its streaming service starting this year, including The Mandalorian spinoff series Rangers of the New Republic and Ahsoka.

Apart from Obi-Wan Kenobi, other Star Wars spinoff series that are set to premiere on Disney Plus include Lando, The Acolyte, A Droid Story, The Bad Batch, and Star Wars: Visions.
