Proving that Halloween isn't just for the epic and fantastical outfits, 'mundane costumes' in Japan are once again making rounds on social media.

With the hashtag #地味ハロウィン2021, which loosely translates to #SimpleHalloween2021, Japanese people are sharing their take on the everyday occurrences that deserve a Halloween nod of their own.

The simple costume trend has been going around for some time now, with a similar trend going viral in Thailand back in 2020. This time around, other Asian countries are lending a hand with pandemic-related predicaments.

Need inspiration for next year's Halloween costumes? Here are some of the best mundane costumes this year.
