GALLERY: These 2022 UP Photo Awards images are the competition's finalists
Five months after announcing the photography competition, the University of the Philippines Photo Awards unveils the 2022 edition's top five finalists for its five categories.
The contest, wherein Filipinos were encouraged to submit photos under the theme "UP in the time of the pandemic," kicked off in November 2021 and attracted thousands of entries from throughout the country. It featured five categories including people, architecture, nature, news, and pre-covid.
Submissions shot using different gadgets were meticulously judged by an esteemed jury, all of whom are experts in the different fields of creative arts.
Among the entries, there will be one grand prize winner, branded the "2022 UP Photo Awards Best Photograph Award," while four other category winners will be dubbed the "2022 UP Photo Awards Best Photograph Category Awards."
The grand winner will receive a cash prize of P100,000 while the other category winners will win P25,000.
