Heads up Final Fantasy fans!

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition will be headed to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android on August 27, bringing improved visuals, new voiceovers and re-arranged music, new dungeons and bosses, and updated UI and mini-map, fresh items and artifacts and even a cross-platform online multiplayer.

The game will be an updated version of the original Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles RPG on Nintendo’s GameCube back in 2003. This time, certain elements of the adventure, gameplay and new features were added while keeping the game faithful to the memories of earlier players, evoking a sense of nostalgia.

The improved visuals and audio of the re-mastered edition makes it look and sound better thanks to updated HD visuals and enhanced audio. Composers Hidenori Iwasaki and kumi Tanioka created new tunes and arranged the original themes.

Game characters and NPCs have also been artfully brought to life thanks to new voice acting. English voiceovers are also available.

The game can be played solo or with friends (up to four) in a co-operative multiplayer experience that supports separate platforms. Cross platform support allows you to freely transfer save data between PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, or even iOS and Android.

Thirteen new dungeons and their bosses now await adventurers. New character skins and additional items can also be equipped.

Under the new ‘Mimic’ feature, players can collect stamps, visit Moogle Houses or complete difficult dungeons to get Memory Crystals that can be used to change a character’s appearance.

A free trial Lite Version will allow players to experience three dungeons, take part in online cross-play, or join in a player who purchased the full game (play together in up to 13 dungeons).

Fair warning though, a quick look at the game’s website notes that: Online multiplayer mode requires an internet connection and either: Nintendo Switch – free registration to a Nintendo account and a paid subscription to “Nintendo Switch Online” service; or PlayStation 4 – free registration to PlayStation Network and a paid subscription to PlayStation Plus.
