Did Squid Game keep you on the edge of your seat with each episode? Be prepared for something even more action-packed as its creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has revealed that what he has in store for his audience could double the thrill of his previous Netflix masterpiece.

With a working title Killing Old People Club or K.O. Club, Variety reported that the new project is based on a novel written by Umberto Eco. Dong-hyuk, who referred to it as “another controversial film,” declared in a TV appearance that it “will be more violent than Squid Game.”

Released in September, Squid Game became an instant hit in various countries like the United States and the Philippines for its riveting adaptation of childhood games with do-or-die challenges. Losers of the games were brutally put to death.

It has also been confirmed that a second season is in the works, but Dong-hyuk said he hasn’t written the script yet. “I have to work on season two. Hopefully, I can show it to the fans by the end of 2024,” he said in the same interview.
