Crazy rich romances and Cebu zombies invade your Weekend Watchlist

This weekend, take a break from the horrors of the real world with some escapist fantasy rom-coms, lighthearted movie monsters, and period piece films.

In case you haven't seen it yet, the bingeable Emily in Paris has been trending in the top 10 watchlist on Neflix the past two weeks. The Filipino animated sci-fi/romance flick Saving Sally premieres this week, along with 2018 film Crazy Rich Asians.

Here are just a few new movies and series available on various streaming sites for your weekend watching pleasure.

Saving Sally

 

Synopsis: A daydreaming comic book artist's unrequited love for his best friend fuels his imagination, and his attempts to save her from her hellish homelife.

Emily in Paris

Crazy Rich Asians

A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster-Hunting

Synopsis: Recruited by a secret society of babysitters, a high schooler battles the Boogeyman and his monsters when they nab the boy she's watching on Halloween.

Fantasy Island

Synopsis: A mysterious man invites a group of lucky guests to his secretive resort to fulfil their darkest fantasies. However, when people start arriving, things take an unexpected turn.

Miss S

Synopsis: HBO Asia Original Miss S is a Mandarin adaptation of the globally popular Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. The series set in 1930s Shanghai, stars award-winning actress Ma Yili (The First Half of My Life, Struggle) in the title role of Miss S, also known as Su Wenli, a beautiful and witty socialite who forms an unlikely duo with the righteous and serious inspector Luo Qiuheng played by Gao Weiguang (Ghost Blowing Light, Harmony).

Synopsis: An American satirical comedy-drama series centered on the Roy family, the dysfunctional owners of Waystar Royco, a global media and hospitality empire, who are fighting for control of the company amid uncertainty about the health of the family's patriarch, Logan Roy (Brian Cox).
