Cute mechanical keyboards for your aesthetic work-from-home desk

By AYIE LICSI Published Mar 04, 2022 6:38 pm

We use our keyboards almost daily, so why not prettify them?

Enter: Mechanical keyboards. These are keyboards look very much like the old-school ones and provide a more comfortable and easy typing experience compared to rubber dome keyboards often found in laptops.

One of the perks of having a mechanical keyboard is its vast customizability. You can replace switches to make every press of a key sound as clicky, quiet, or smooth as you want. Or you can dress them with keycaps that scream your style and vibe.

These customizations, however, will usually add more to your costs—and some switches and keycaps don't come cheap, especially cute ones. Luckily, there are pre-built keyboards in the market that are already aesthetic, all you have to do is add them to your cart. Here are some of the cutest keebs we found online.

NextkeysPH's retro mechanical keyboard

Living for the dark academia aesthetic? NextKeys PH has a retro mechanical keyboard reminiscent of classic typewriters. This 75% keyboard has rounded keys, a wood-colored case, and a paper rest like the OG device.

You can connect up to three laptops, PCs, tablets, and smartphones to this keyboard via Bluetooth and adjust the brightness and volume of your device through the knobs on the left and right sides of the paper rest. The keys are also backlit for those who type in the dark.

Redragon FIZZ K617

For fans of everything pink, the Redragon FIZZ K617 is a compact, space-saving option. This 61% wired mechanical keyboard is splashed with two fresh mixed colorways.

Out of the box, the keeb is fitted with hot-swappable red linear switches, which are quiet and soft to press. There are also up to 20 backlight presets that you can customize on your computer.

The Redragon FIZZ K617 is available for P1,350.

Mofii Candy M

This pastel-colored mechanical keyboard features cute, rounded keys. This model, however, is only a wired version but you can still use it with your Android smartphone and tablet by connecting a USB-C cable.

This keyboard comes with blue clicky switches that produce a cripsy, loud sound and feel suitable for typing. It comes in five colorways, including a cute Milk Tea option for P2,199.

Epomaker Skyloong Pink GK68XS

If you're willing to shell out more cash on a good-looking pre-built keyboard, the Epomaker Skyloong is a safe bet. This wireless device comes with 68 keys, including arrow ones, and it features a clean, crisp design for the more minimalist workers out there.

Akko Cinnamoroll 3068B

For keyboards inspired by character design, Akko has a lot of cute options in store like the kawaii Cinamoroll 3068B, which is part of the brand's Sanrio collaboration. Its case comes in a cool baby blue while the keys come in a scripted font.

Some keys—like the space bar, backspace, enter, and escape—feature illustrations that will catch your eye. They are also lit up by RGB lighting and are able to connect to both Mac and Windows computers. The plate is also already fitted with a noise-dampening foam for a creamier sound.
