Apple might be planning to hold a virtual launch this Mar. 8, according to Bloomberg. And in this spring event, the tech giant is expected to introduce a new budget iPhone with 5G capabilities.

This new device will likely be part of the iPhone SE line, Apple's affordable smartphones. So far, rumors online say differently about what the new phone will look like. Some leaks say it will follow the current iPhone SE's design with the thick bezels and home button akin to the iPhone 8, which could mean it will still keep the Touch ID feature.

On the other hand, others said it will finally get a larger display and a notch like the iPhone X.

There isn't a lot of buzz about the upcoming budget iPhone's cameras, but it's likely to have only one main shooter like previous iterations.

The biggest upgrades of the upcoming iPhone SE 2022 will be its 5G capabilities and a better processor, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

As for its price, analysts predict the launch price will remain at $399 or around P20,000, depending on the storage options offered.

Currently, the iPhone SE 2020 is available for P26,490. It was equipped with the same chip as the iPhone 11 series, a 4.7-inch display, Touch ID, and a single 12MP camera.

Aside from the new budget iPhone, Apple is also expected to introduce an updated iPad Air 5, iOS 15.4, and possibly, a new Mac.
