Playing superhero in a movie is not always fun and games. In interviews, actors have routinely discussed the difficulties of acquiring the on-screen mantle, with many attributing harsh diets and vigorous exercise as some of the most significant sacrifices they have to make.

Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) star Brie Larson is in a similar situation nowadays. She recently revealed that she’s in the middle of preparations to return to her signature role as Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel 2. To get herself in tip-top shape, Brie built a fully functional home gym.

In a 33-second video posted on Twitter, Brie revealed the need to keep in shape and get ready for the physically demanding rigors of filming.

"As you may know, Captain Marvel 2 is gearing up. I can't say much more about it than that. But I gotta get ready for it. It’s time for me to get moving. Allow me to show you,” she began before taking the camera to her home gym.

The indoor gym includes a variety of metal contraptions and fixtures, including heavy plates, cast iron kettlebells, medicine balls, a bench, a rack and other gym equipment.

“Yeah, she’s got a home gym folks. It’s happening. I have a ridiculous, really intimidating home gym!” Brie concludes. Here's a full look at her home gym which she featured on her YouTube channel.

Brie is no stranger to intense preparation for her roles. During the first Captain Marvel movie, she pushed a 5,000-pound Jeep up an incline by herself for roughly 60 seconds on a dare. She followed it up with pushups weighed down by metal chains strapped on her back.

Though producers remain mum about the plot details, its been confirmed that director Nia DaCosta will be helming the sequel, taking over for the directorial duo of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. Taking charge of the script is Gene Colan and Roy Thomas while for the cast, Larson is joined by Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau) and Iman Vellani (Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel).

Captain Marvel 2 is scheduled to arrive in theaters on Nov. 11, 2022.
