Network transfer confirmed? Pokwang will star in this much-talked about upcoming GMA-7 sitcom

More details are coming in about comedienne Pokwang’s supposed transfer to GMA-7, a move that follows several previous reports of other long-time ABS-CBN talents working with rival Kapuso Network.

According to Pilipino Star Ngayon, Pokwang will indeed do a show for GMA-7.

The comedienne will be part of the Kapuso Network’s upcoming sitcom Unang Kuwento. The report said Pokwang will also be a talent of GMA's talent management arm, GMA Artist Center, as well.

The show Unang Kuwento has been an interesting project for GMA-7. The show is a prequel to the popular weekly comedy show Pepito Manaloto that just aired its season finale a few weeks ago. Headlined and created by comedian Michael V, Pepito Manaloto ran for over nine years, which is why the announcement of its season finale to give way to a prequel show surprised fans and followers.

The cast of Unang Kuwento reportedly includes GMA-7 talents Sef Cadayona and Mikee Quintos. Kokoy de Santos, who rose to fame as the star of the online Boys Love show Gameboys, is also reportedly part of the show.

Several reports of ABS-CBN artists moving to rival network GMA-7 have been coming out recently. John Lloyd Cruz made his TV comeback on a TV special that aired on GMA-7 last week, while Beauty Gonzalez is also said to be doing a soap opera with the network.

Pokwang, John Lloyd, and Beauty are all home-grown talents that have long been associated with ABS-CBN.

John Lloyd’s perennial onscreen partner Bea Alonzo is also in talks with GMA-7. But according to a separate Pilipino Star Ngayon report, GMA-7 is negotiating with Bea about her talent fee.
