Kevin Feige confirms Abomination and Wong cage fight in ‘Shang-Chi’ trailer
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ most recent trailer showed the Abomination and Wong duking it out in a cage arena.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently confirmed that the two characters were indeed in that cage.
"Some fans said, 'This looks like a character they hadn't seen in many years named the Abomination, fighting a character that looks like Wong.' And I can say that the reason it looks like that is because that is Abomination fighting Wong,” Feige said in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes.
This came as a surprise for many as Feige only confirmed that the Abomination would appear in the Disney Plus She-Hulk series, while Wong is confirmed to return in Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness.
"[It's] a fun thing to have a character that we haven't had on screen in over a decade show up again in the MCU," Feige added.
Fans are now speculating online how the two’s fates are intertwined with the Master of Martial Arts Shang-Chi, or why they are fighting in the first place.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will premiere in theaters on September 3, 2021.
