Bae Suzy will be making her K-Drama comeback in streaming platform Coupang Play‘s upcoming original series titled The Second Anna.

Suzy’s agency, Management SOOP said on July 8, Thursday, the actress received the offer to appear in the new web drama.

“We received an offer to appear in Coupang Play’s Second Anna and are positively reviewing for it,” the management company said.

It tells the story of a woman who tries to live someone else's life as if she has Ripley Syndrome.

Ripley's Syndrome is a condition that involves confusing a false self for one's actual self, where the person constantly believes in a fictional world. The name of this antisocial personality disorder came from Tom Ripley, the anti-hero at the center of American novelist Patricia Highsmith’s crime novels from the 1950s.

The Second Anna was originally planned to be produced as a movie, but the production team decided to reformat it into an eight-episode series.

Suzy reportedly decided to accept this as her small-screen return, following the success of tvN K-Drama Start-Up. The actress’ potential series will be directed by Lee Joo-young of the 2017 movie A Single Rider that starred When the Camellia Blooms' actress Gong Hyo-jin and Mr. Sunshine actor Lee Byung-hun.

The Second Anna is currently casting actors for their other roles and aims to be filmed later this year.

On March 31, 2019, Suzy left JYP Entertainment following the expiration of her contract and decided to sign a contract with acting agency Management SOOP. The singer-turned-actress then starred in the spy-action dramaVagabond, playing a secret agent and action film Ashfall, playing the role of Ha Jung-woo's wife
