The Pokémon Company dropped a new trailer for the next set of mainline Pokémon games with a few new characters, including an adorable pint-sized pig aptly named Lechonk.

The character originates from Mediterranean Spain, where the term lechón is widely referred to as roasted pig. The fiesta dish also happens to be one of the most beloved pork dishes in the Philippines.

As described by the Pokémon Company, Lechonk is a “hog pokemon” that uses its sense of smell to find and eat only the most fragrant wild grasses and the richest berries.

Meet your new favorite Pokémon, Lechonk!

“As a result of its dining habits, it has come to radiate an aroma resembling herbs that Bug-type Pokémon dislike. If attacked by an opponent and startled, it will charge forward in a panic. It may appear fat at first glance, but in reality, the Pokémon’s body is mostly muscle built by constantly walking around in search of food,” reads the characters’s description.

Hours after the Pokémon trailer launch was released Wednesday (June 1), the adorable hog Pokemon has already become a fan favorite on the internet.

"This name is perfect btw! "Lechon" is spanish for piglet or pork, so LECHONK works on multiple levels LOL" said Twitter user @GC_Vasquez.

“Not to be dramatic, but I would die for Lechonk,” the Twitter account of social deduction game @AmongUs chimed in.

Others voiced their adoration for the name and design of the new character, trading in their old favorites for the porky Pokemon.

"Lechonk is the greatest thing I've ever seen," wrote @CouRageJD.

"Lechonk is the greatest Pokemon name of all time and no one can convince me otherwise" said @PMJohn.

Lechonk offers a cute homage to Scarlet and Violet’s new Spanish-influenced region. Other characters debuted include Pawmi, a mouse Pokémon with electricity-discharging organs on its forepaws and Smoliv, an Olive Pokémon that can shoot oil to slow down opponents.

We're pretty sure Pinoys are going to be coming up with memes pretty soon. Lechonk Kawali, anyone?

The second Pokémon Scarlet and Violet trailer released by the Pokemon Company also announced two new legendary Pokemon from the region called Koraidon and Miraidon,  who have serpentine designs, with Koraidon sporting a red color scheme and Miraidon primarily in purple.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are set to be released on Nov. 18 on Nintendo Switch.
