Cinema '76 Film Society is welcoming back movie fans after almost two years of no physical events.

The Quezon City branch of the intimate micro-cinema is set to open its doors starting on Wednesday, Nov. 17 with its first full showings of films Dune and Black Widow.

Ticket-selling will be contactless, as viewers should reserve their tickets here at least a day before the film. Only fully vaccinated individuals are allowed to reserve and purchase their seats.

Following Alert Level 2 regulations that cinema-goers should refrain from eating and drinking inside the cinema, the Cinema '76 Café will also be available for those that want to fulfill the "watch and dine" experience.

The alfresco movie-themed café opened in June 2021 and offers a cozy spot for coffee lovers and movie enthusiasts to enjoy the outdoor ambiance and safe lounging, along with a selection of food and beverages.

Like many local businesses, the microcinema was forced to shut down in 2020 amid the pandemic.

In November of the same year, they introduced the movie-on-demand platform Cinema ’[email protected] to allow fans to continue streaming virtual indie film in the comfort of their home.

Meanwhile, their second branch in San Juan branch formally closed its doors in September.

“Our hearts may be heavy, but we know that this is not goodbye. We believe in the resilience of Creatives in the industry. We believe in the passion of Filipino movie fans. Magkakasama-sama run tayo unit sa loob ng sinehan," Cinema '76 shared on Facebook announcing the closure.
