A Pinay named “Spaghetti ‘88” from Sta. Maria, Bulacan drew laughs from the crowd when she shared what she decided to name her kids.

Spag has been making the rounds on social media since her recent guest appearance on noontime show Eat Bulaga, where she talked about her family and their amusing names. She started by sharing that her siblings are called “Macaroni ‘85” and “Sincerely Yours ’98,” with the numbers indicating their birth years.

She said it was their late father’s idea to give them such names, pointing out that he wanted them to sound “unique” and “modern” at the same time.

Spag didn’t hesitate to continue what their family has been known for when it was time for her to have her own kids. She gave them bizarre names, too, and made sure they could be connected to the dish she was named after.

“Syempre ang pangalan ko, Spaghetti, so what’s in spaghetti?” she began.

“’Yung firstborn ko is ‘Cheese Pimiento,’” she shared, adding that she also has a child named “Parmesan Cheese.” Their nicknames are Chippy and Peewee, taking inspiration from the famous Pinoy chips.

The Filipina is expecting another child, who she’s planning to name “Mozzarella Cheese.” She will be nicknamed “Moby” after another local crowd favorite.

Spag said that they have encountered certain problems due to their bizarre names. Aside from getting bullied over them, people also tend to get confused when they order food at restaurants. Applying for government IDs and documents hasn’t been an easy feat for them, either. “Lagi po akong may affidavit na Spaghetti ’88 ay isang tao,” she said.

But such uniqueness comes with an advantage, too. Spag said they’re able to easily connect with other people, including their clients, because their names are pretty easy to remember.
