The zombie-thriller series by Karl Schaefer and John Hyams will release its second season today on the popular streaming platform.

Netflix Geeked confirmed that the show was renewed last November 19, 2019, but due to production constraints because of COVID-19 the release was pushed back a few months.

Hyams confirmed that the new season will be released this year as he answered a fan's tweet regarding the series.

Netflix Geeked also teased the second season in its twitter account last May 19, with a clip of Rose and Anna hiding from a frantic infected.

What to expect

The first season released on Netflix in April 2019 ended on a silver lining as Rose, played by Jaime King reunites with her daughter who she lost during the evacuation of the military to the football stadium where they meet.

The only remaining survivors in her group include Sun, and Spears after party members died during encounters with the infected.

In the second season's trailer, the show will pick up on the story of Rose, now with her daughter Anna, and how their group will survive zombies and morally unsettled humans during winter.

The characters also mentioned a zombie tsunami during the first season, but the series never delivered on showing even a glimpse of the phenomena.

This tsunami of zombies could also be a focal point in the second season, where Rose and the others might succumb to it as they had a hard time in facing the infected during the first season.
