Celebrate Chinese New Year at Lucky Chinatown with live concerts, cultural performances and auspicious rituals

Lucky Chinatown in Manila celebrates Chinese New Year (CNY) with live concerts, cultural performances, and auspicious rituals. 

A visual feast awaits mall goers in “A Feast of Folk Spring Festival” on Jan. 21, from 3 to 6 p.m. Watch out for the CNY countdown live concert featuring Jason Dhakal, Ace Banzuelo, Janine Teñoso, Darren, and Shanti Dope, and the “Sparkles of Spring,” a series of fireworks display from Jan. 21 and 22.

Pop-rock band Nobita will have a concert on Jan. 22. At 4 p.m., catch feng shui master Johnson Chua in “Written in the Stars,” an interactive Chinese zodiac session.

Learn more about Chinese traditions and heritage in “Chinese Roving Entertainment” from Jan. 21 to 22. It features Chinese opera, a stilt walker show, and other activities.

Celebrate the Year of the Rabbit with authentic Chinese treats and blockbuster movies at the Chinese Food and Film Festival from Jan. 20 to 22. To join, register at the ticket counters to get free cinema passes. As an added treat, the first 60 guests per screening will getfree popcorn.

Indulge in for CNY treats and shop for lucky charms at the Lucky Market ongoing until Jan. 22, and the Meisic Street Feast, an outdoor food fair, respectively. Visit the Modern Tao Ke Fair until Jan 22, and have a special feast featuring authentic Chinese selections made by MSMEs, in partnership with Chinoy TV. 

Other activities include the Chinatown Parade, a colorful float parade in partnership with the City of Manila and Manila Chinatown Development Council, Jan. 22 at 3 p.m.; the Prosperity Dance, a dragon and lion dance performance around the mall, Jan. 22 at 9 a.m.; and the Lantern Festival, which features Chinese lanterns painted by students of Hope Christian School, with special support from the Chinese Filipino Business Club (CFBCI) on Feb. 5.
