'Pillars of Eternity,' 'Tyranny' free for a limited time on the Epic Games Store

'Tis the season to be merry when you're a gamer. This week, roleplaying game enthusiasts get a chance to snag two critically-acclaimed games for free, but for a limited time only.

On Thursdays, the Epic Games Store is known to give away a game or two from their digital storefront and last week was no different. Made available for free download are two highly-rated RPGs, both from developer Obsidian entertainment.

The first is Pillars of Eternity - Definitive Edition. Here's the synopsis:

Recapture the deep sense of exploration, the joy of a pulsating adventure, and the thrill of leading your own band of companions across a new fantasy realm and into the depths of monster-infested dungeons in search of lost treasures and ancient mysteries. The second RPG is Tyranny – Gold EditionThe synopsis goes:

Included with Tyranny – Gold Edition is the official digital soundtrack, ringtones, digital high-resolution game map, digital guide book and art book, and more.

This coming Thursday, Epic Games Store will begin its 15 days of free game giveaways, which means a game that's free to download for 24 hours with another free game taking its place daily for the next two weeks.

The only catch is you need to sign up for a free Epic Games Store account in order to download the games and have them free to keep forever in your account.
