Prime Video has unleashed the first official trailer for its highly awaited animated anthology series, The Boys Presents: Diabolical.

Ahead of its debut, the streaming platform unveiled new details about the new series including new cast members, episode descriptions and a bonkers new trailer.

Released on Thursday, the clip immediately brings fans to the same universe of the gritty and satirical superhero show, The Boys, with sequences filled with dark humor, explicit language, nudity, chaos, and gore.

The trailer also offers fans their first look at the show’s episodes, which feature various animation styles including the first episode that is inspired after classic American animated shorts.

Aside from the trailer, Prime Video also revealed new details about the “fun-sized episodes,” which will run between 12 to 14 minutes.

The first episode, which appeared in the teaser last month, is titled “Laser Baby’s Day Out,” written by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen and helmed by Crystal Chesney-Thompson and Derek Thompson.

Next up is Justin Roiland and Ben Bayouth’s “An Animated Short Where Pissed-Off Supes Kill Their Parents,” which is inspired by Roiland’s aesthetic from Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty.

Other episodes include a homage to the original The Boys comics titled “I'm Your Pusher” by comics writer Garth Ennis and director Giancarlo Volpe as well as Eliot Glazer’s “Boyd in 3D,” which is inspired after French comics and animation.

Meanwhile, “BFFs” by Awkwafina and director Madeleine Flore is inspired by Saturday morning animation imports. There’s also Aisha Tyler’s anime-inspired “Nubian vs Nubian” and Andy Samberg’s “John and Sun-Hee,” which resembles an animation style from Korean drama and horror.

Lastly, “One Plus One Equals Two” by writer Simon Racioppa and directors Jae Kim and Giancarlo Volpe offers a darker take on American superhero animation.

The cast of the animated show includes Awkwafina, Michael Cera, Don Cheadle, Chace Crawford, Kieran Culkin, Giancarlo Esposito, Glazer, Jason Isaacs, Kumail Nanjiani, Roiland, Rogen, Samberg, Ben Schwartz, Elisabeth Shue, Christian Slater, Kevin Smith, Antony Starr, Nasim Pedrad, Simon Pegg, Kenan Thompson, Tyler, and Oscar-winner Youn Yuh Jung.

Meanwhile, new cast additions include Kimberly Brooks, Nicole Byer, Frances Conroy, Asjha Cooper, Chris Diamantopolous, John DiMaggio, Jermaine Fowler, Emily Gordon, Grey Griffin, Randall Duk Kim, David Marciano, Xolo Maridueña, Dominique McElligott, Caleb McLaughlin, Colby Minifie, Eugene Mirman, Retta, Kevin Michael Richardson, Somali Rose, Parker Simmons, Ursula Taherian, Fred Tatasciore, Sean Patrick Thomas, Angela Marie Volpe, Gary Antony Williams and Jenny Yokobori.

The Boys Presents: Diabolical is executive produced by Simon Racioppa, Eric Kripke, Rogen, Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Ori Marmur, Ken F. Levin, Jason Netter, Ennis, Darick Robertson, Michaela Starr, Loreli Alanís, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, and Ben Kalina.

The streaming platform confirmed that the eight-episode animated anthology series will debut exclusively on Prime Video on March 4, 2022.
