It's time to set sail for the big screens as One Piece Film: Red is slated to be released in the Philippines at SM Megamall this September.

According to the SM Cinema site, the 15th film in the One Piece franchise will screen at SM Megamall on Sept. 17, 18, and 24. This marks the first time that Luffy and his band of pirates will be seen in local cinemas since 2019's One Piece: Stampede.

The trailer for the anime film was released a few months back. It introduces a new character named Uta, the greatest and most beloved singer in world due to her "otherworldly" voice.

One Piece Film: Red follows the Straw Hat pirates as they attend the live concert of Uta, where she will appear in public for the very first time. However, the concert starts off unexpectedly as Uta reveals herself as the daughter of Shanks, a legendary pirate and the one who inspired Luffy to go on his own pirate journey.

One Piece Film: Red was first announced in November last year in commemoration of the anime series' 1000th episode. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the manga, served as the film's general producer and supervisor.

The One Piece franchise is soon coming to a close after running for 25 years and selling over 500 million copies worldwide, as Oda said that the manga is entering its final arc.
