Angel Locsin defends Kris Aquino from rehashed accusations of ‘stealing’ Marcos’ jewelry: ‘She can buy jewelry from her hard-earned money’

Angel Locsin has defended Kris Aquino from accusations of stealing Imelda Marcos’ jewelry.

Locsin was reacting to an Inquirer report where former chief justice Maria Lourdes Sereno warned netizens who were accusing Aquino of stealing Marcos’ jewelry that they might face criminal charges.

On Facebook, Sereno said the jewelry has already been ruled by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and PCGG (Presidential Commission on Good Government) as ill-gotten.

Following the Inquirer’s report on Sereno’s post, Locsin defended Aquino on Thursday, Dec, 2, by emphasizing that Aquino can actually buy jewelry from her “hard-earned” money.

“She can afford to buy her own jewelry with her hard-earned money thank you very much,” Locsin said on Instagram stories.

Back in 2016, Aquino also slammed accusations of allegedly stealing the former first lady’s jewelry in a now-deleted Instagram post. “I paid for them with hard earned, tax paid income, and hindi ko na problema kung yung pagnanakaw ng iba trip nilang ibintang/pagtakpan using me.”

Marcos’ jewelry is currently under the care of the PCGG and the BSP, as of this writing. The PCGG also launched a virtual exhibit in 2016 to raise “awareness on the two-decade plunder of the Marcoses during Martial Law.”
