Save the date, Simmers! There will be more stories and more ways to chaos soon.

Video game company Electronic Arts (EA) and Maxis announced on Wednesday that The Sims 4 Base Game will be free to download starting October 18, 2022. Electronic Arts and Maxis are more "dedicated than ever" to developing new and exciting experiences for gamers.

Players must be thrilled enough to see the newly released packs and kits. Additionally, Sims Delivery Express (SDX) drops into the predicted future bringing fresh contents without needing a full patch.

"Our community has continued to inspire us with the billions of unique Sims they've created, the countless stories they've told, and the remarkable builds they've designed," EA said in a statement.

The famed and long-standing game will be available to all players to download across Mac via Origin, PC via the EA app or Origin, Steam, PlayStation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One systems.

The Sims 4 member-only bundles will enter The Play List on Oct. 18 with an improved experience for EA Play and EA Play Pro members. The Sims 4 Get To Work Expansion Pack is included in The Sims 4 EA Play Edition. The Sims 4 Toddler Stuff Pack is included in The Sims 4 EA Play Pro Edition.

To show gratitude to the bona fide players who amplify The Sims community, all players who purchased the game from Sept. 14 to Oct. 17 will receive the Desert Luxe Kit as a gift.

Stay tuned as the team will talk about what's coming up and more surprising announcements during a special-edition stream, Behind The Sims, via The Sims YouTube and Twitch channels on October 18, 2022.
