A new mural made by Filipino artist Jappy Agoncillo featuring Thor: Love and Thunder in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) has gotten the stamp of approval from director Taika Waititi.

The eye-catching mural, which features Thor and Mighty Thor, was described as “epic” by the director in a video shared by Marvel Philippines on Tuesday evening, July 12.

"Holy cow! Oh, my lord, that's amazing, man that is epic," Waititi said.

In the video, Agoncillo caught up with the director to unveil his larger-than-life artwork and shared how Marvel Philippines invited him to paint the mural to hype the latest MCU flick.

"Those are the kind of colors that we were looking for in this film. We wanted to like, you know really like, with the palette, have everything pop. The colors are incredible, aren't they? Wow!, Waititi said reacting to the artwork in Marvel Philippines' video.

"Dreams come true sometimes, and I’m feelin crazy blessed cause one of mine did. I don’t have very many favorite projects, as I’m always pretty hard on my own work, but this has got to be at the top of the list," Agoncillo previously wrote on his Instagram account sharing a photo of the completed mural he worked on.

In Marvel's video, Agoncillo also discussed the art influences and music choices behind Waititi's filmmaking style.

According to Waititi, he draws inspiration from different things from film to film, including Jack Kirby's art for Thor: Ragnarok.

Kirby, a prolific American comic book artist, created many of the characters in Atlas Comics (which eventually became Marvel) in the 1960s, including the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Thor, the Hulk, Iron Man and Black Panther.

The director also shared why he used certain songs from Guns N' Roses, particularly Sweet Child O' Mine, which he said "evokes something in everyone" and how it just takes him back to the '80s.

The director thanked fans in the Philippines and invited everyone to check out the "beautiful, big piece of art" featuring Thor: Love and Thunder in BGC.
