Ready for a big dose of nostalgia? YouTube creator FemboyFilms has restored a special, previously lost film of popular Japanese music variety show The Best Ten where Voltes V theme singer Mitsuko Horie performed the iconic show opener in full 80s glory.

In the special episode, instead of covering the top 10 songs of the week, hosts Tamori and Miyuki Kojima counted down the top 10 anime of the year 1980 wherein Voltes V ranked fourth.

The film was acquired by Twitter user @nappasan and together, they scanned it in 6.5K resolution, recut, edited, and color collected it for its 2022 upload.

During Horie's performance, she was donning a Voltes V-inspired outfit with thigh-high white boots. Her dance moves and poses were also oozing with the anime's vibes.

Aside from work on the Voltes V theme song, Horie also sang themes for Doraemon, Attack on Tomorrow, and Sailor Moon Crystal. She has also lent her voice for animes like Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars as Sailor Galaxia and Remi, Nobody's Girl as the titular character.

Voltes V first premiered in the 70s, becoming popular in many countries including the Philippines. The robot anime was actually banned by former president Ferdinand Marcos during his dictatorial regime.

Currently, GMA is working on a live-action adaptation of the popular series starring Martin del Rosario, Liezel Lopez, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, and Raphael Landicho.
