The Batman has resumed production in the United Kingdom a few weeks after it was halted when a crewmember of the superhero blockbuster tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a report by the Associated Press, a representative from Warner Bros. said that filming of Matt Reeves’ highly-awaited retelling of the Dark Knight has resumed after a hiatus for COVID-19 quarantine precautions.

It was previously reported that Robert Pattinson, the star of the DC superhero film, was the person who tested positive for COVID-19. However, the studio has not revealed the identity of the individual who contracted the virus.

"A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused,” Warner Bros. told Vanity Fair in a statement.

The production of the DC superhero film had been suspended for nearly six months due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. When the cameras finally began rolling on the set of the DC film, it was immediately cut short when a member of the crew had to be isolated after testing positive for the dreaded virus.

The cast of DC’s upcoming film includes Andy Serkis as Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler Alfred, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman and Paul Dano as the Riddler. The Batman was scheduled to hit theaters in June 2021 but was pushed back to October 2021 due to filming delays caused by the pandemic.
