A reboot of Nickelodeon's classic ‘90s cartoon series Rugrats is slated to premiere on Paramount Plus this year.

The network said that the original voice cast behind Tommy Pickles (E.G. Daily), Chuckie Finster (Nancy Cartwright), Angelica Pickles (Cheryl Chase), Susie Carmichael (Cree Summer) as well as Phil and Lil DeVille (Kath Soucie) will return to reprise their iconic roles for the upcoming animated show.

Unlike the original series, the Rugrats revival will feature rich and colorful CG-animation and will follow the toddlers as they explore the world and beyond from their pint-sized and wildly imaginative point-of-view.

“Rugrats is one of the most iconic cartoons recognized by fans around the globe, and this original version is one we are taking great care and pride in creating for a brand-new audience,” Nickelodeon Animation president Ramsey Naito said. “Having the voice cast behind these special characters come together is one of the essential pieces to making the show recognizable and we can’t wait to watch this talented group bring them to life again.”

Created by Arlene Klasky, Gabor Csupo and Paul Germain for Nickelodeon, the original Rugrats ran for a total of nine seasons and 172 episodes from 1991 to 2004.

The show instantly became a global phenomenon and spawned consumer products as well as three hit theatrical releases. It also earned several awards during its 13-year run, including four Daytime Emmy Awards, six Kids’ Choice Awards and its own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
