A remastered 'Titanic' is returning to cinemas in February

James Cameron's beloved classic Titanic is returning to the big screen this February for the film's 25th anniversary.

Paramount Pictures announced that the award-winning movie will be re-released on Valentine's Day weekend, Feb. 10, in 3D 4K HDR.

Titanic is an action-packed romance following the tale of poor artist Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) as he falls in love with aristocrat Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet) while aboard the luxurious R.M.S. Titanic. The maiden voyage of the grand ship, however, befalls an ill fate as it collides with an iceberg.

The events leading to the shipwreck were based on the real-life tragedy that destroyed the British passenger liner on April 14-15, 1912.

The original 1997 flick won four Golden Globes and 11 Oscars, including awards for best director, best original song, best film editing, and best costume design. It turned DiCaprio and Winslet into mega stars and has played a huge part in pop culture—who could forget the iconic My Heart Will Go On song and the ending that people are still debating up to this day. Did Jack really need to sacrifice himself?

This isn't the first time James Cameron released a remaster of his film as a revamped version of 2009's Avatar was shown in theaters in 2022.
