As reported by Deadline the film is based on the same title of the debut thriller book of author Ellie Conway, which will follow “‘the world’s greatest spy,’ Argylle, as he is caught up in a globe-trotting adventure.”

Deadline added that cameras for Argylle will start rolling this August in Europe. This will be the first of at least three films in the franchise and is set in America, London, among others.

“When I read this early draft manuscript I felt it was the most incredible and original spy franchise since Ian Fleming’s books of the ’50s,” director-producer Vaughn said. “This is going to reinvent the spy genre,” he added.

The report included that Jason Fuchs will write the script and will also produce alongside Adam Bohling and David Reid. The executive producers are Zygi Kamasa, Carlos Peres, Claudia Vaughn, and Adam Fishbach.

Upcoming films of Marv include The King's Man which will be released in December 2021 and Tetris.
