WanderManila to host ‘Trese’ online tour based on Netflix’s anime on July 2

Touring and experiential group WanderManila will host an all-new virtual tour based on the groundbreaking Trese anime this Friday, July 2.

Through The Dragon Gate: The Trese Online Tour (Anime Edition) will take visitors on a virtual tour around Metro Manila to important locations featured in the hit series currently streaming on Netflix.

The free online tour will discuss locations that lent their notoriety and mystique to the Trese series, such as Balete Drive, the Manila South Cemetery, and the MRT, among other places.

"Trese takes place in Metro Manila, and its rich, chaotic, and colorful personality helps define the stories that were told. Tomorrow, we will break down how Metro Manila was represented in the recently released Trese animation in Netflix to showcase how important having a sense of place is in storytelling," the tour company wrote on Thursday.

WanderManila first staged the Trese online tour last year focusing on the seven books in the original graphic novels written by Budjette Tan and illustrated by Kajo Baldisimo, which viewers can still watch online.

However, with the recent anime adaptation on Netflix, which diverged from the comics so much, the tour operators believe it warrants a brand new tour.

Through The Dragon Gate will be livestreamed over at WanderManila's FB Page on Friday, July 2 at 8:00 p.m. PHT.
