“This image of Black Adam from behind gives you a tactile sense of the absolute massive scale and size of our movie,” said Johnson in his post.
“You also see a little of the intricate and beautiful textured detail of Black Adam’s body suit. (This is not your typical DC or Marvel padded muscle suit),” he added.
The film will follow the villain/anti-hero Teth-Adam/Theo-Adam, a former slave from Kahndaq who was given superpowers by the wizard Shazam. The same wizard who gave Billy Batson his powers.
This will serve as another origin film that will set up possible branches in the DCEU for years to come.
Production on the film started last April and multiple cast members have already been confirmed including Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, and Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher.
Black Adam will premiere on July 29, 2022 in theaters.
