From headlining wanted posters across the oceans, the infamous Straw Hat Pirates are now gracing the pages of fashion magazines.

Japanese mangaka Eiichiro Oda — best known for creating pirate adventure One Piece — has recently heralded the manga/anime’s dive into the world of high fashion.

Oda was tasked with creating cover artwork for ELLEMEN China‘s upcoming issue. The result? Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro are now donning the latest pieces from Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2020 “Fake/Not” collection.

The captain and first mate of the Straw Hat Pirates are the latest models for the Italian fashion house’s latest compilation. Aside from appearing on the cover art, both Luffy and Zoro are dressed to the nines in the look book for the Gucci collection.

Within its multiple pages, the Straw Hats are transformed into fashion models and couture icons adept at striking poses while wearing designer garments and accessories.

This is part of a continuing trend that sees both anime and manga characters cross over into the stylish world of high fashion.
