Vice President Leni Robredo has launched her own podcast ahead of the COMELEC filing of candidacies.

TItled The Leni Robredo Podcast, the VP promises that the series will see her in a "more casual, more intimate" light as she speaks to guests she shares similarities with.

"For so long, so many people have been asking me to do a podcast of my own," she shared during the podcast's opening monologue. "Lalo dito sa office because a lot of our staff are very young people and sinasabi nila, 'para naman makausap mo iyong mga age group namin.'"

Robredo has guested in a number of local online shows in the past, such as Bianca's own YouTube series Legends Only and the Wake Up With Jim and Saab podcast hosted by Saab Magalona-Bacarro and Jim Bacarro. She also hosts the weekly radio show, Biserbisyong Leni.

"I'm actually excited because yung experience ko sa aking radio program, you get to talk to a lot of many different people so I learned a lot... Hopefully, with this podcast, I get to reach the generation of my daughters," Robredo added.

Her first guest is former Pinoy Big Brother housemate and host Bianca Gonzalez. The women discussed the life events that led them to their respective fields.

Robredo likened her political career to Gonzalez's foray into show business as she was thrust into the position after the death of her husband and former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo. Gonzalez shared that she was also a reluctant celebrity at first before diving into hosting.

The Vice President has yet to announce if she will run for a position in the 2022 national elections. Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Duterte has already accepted the nomination of PDP-Laban to run as vice president in the coming elections.

The filing of candidacies will run from Oct. 1 to 8 of this year.
