Netflix and Shondaland blessed us with the gorgeous Simon Besset, the Duke of Hastings, in their newest period drama Bridgerton, and we can’t thank them enough for introducing us to the man who plays him: Regé-Jean Page.

Unknown to many, Page isn’t new to television. According to his IMDb profile, the 31-year-old British-Zimbabwean actor has been acting since 2004 and has appeared in several shows and movies including Harry Potter (yep, that's right!).

Roots (2016)

The actor played an enslaved man named Chicken George in History Channel’s remake of the historical drama, Roots, which is based on Alex Haley’s 1976 book, Roots: The Saga of an American Family.

Page told InStyle, “My big entrance into this industry was playing an enslaved person, which is an absolute cliché of people of color.”

Waterloo Road (2015)

Page’s first big role a role in BBC series Waterloo. He played Guy Braxton, who is a  teacher at a school where he is newly transferred. Later on, it is revealed that he sleeps at the school due to homelessness.

Fresh Meat (2013)

Page appeared in two episodes of season three of the British comedy-drama television series Fresh Meat. He plays the domesticated college boy Dean, who helps the lead, Josie, with her household chores.
